The amount of eyes I’ve had roll when I answered the question “What are you up to these days?” – I’m amazed any of the people around me could actually see where they were going – At least the ones who looked straight to the floor had some chance of getting away from me – “No! Sorry, but that simply does not fit into the box I have placed you in!” – I shall literally turn on my heal and walk away now – leaving you feeling as if you just sprouted a second head
I had a dream this morning, I remembered it really clearly when I woke up – I was with a person I barely see from year to year, a friend of a friend – They asked me what I’d been up to since we last saw each other and when I told him he laughed his head off – ‘You’re still doing that Age of Aquarius stuff?” as he belly laughed at me – I’m sure I’ve had quite a lot of people laughing at me on this journey, defiantly some as they’ve done it literally in my face – So, a quote that has helped me enormously
The wise student hears of the Tao and practises it diligently. The average student hears of the Tao and gives it thought now and again. The foolish student hears of the Tao and laughs aloud. If there were no laughter, the Tao would not be what it is.
Tao Te Ching – Lao Tzu – Chapter 41
I am not Taoist, does that make the the average student then?! – But I have read about and very much like the Taoist philosophy and this part in particular stuck with me – Just to help us through those times when we do feel ridiculed, just to know that it’s alight
